CAIRO - Feb. 14 to March 4, 2010:
I am heading back to Egypt to work for three weeks with the Egypt Media Development Program and the schedule they have prepared is jam-packed with training and consulting visits with journalists from Egypt’s top media houses.
I have been working with the program since their launch and it is amazing that in three years I am able to contribute on so many levels - with reporting, design and multimedia. We have now built many training centers and things are moving well on many levels with regards to visual and digital journalism literacy. We still have a long way to go but the foundations at the base of this new pyramid are looking strong.
I will be filming interviews for the “Breaking the News” documentary (The film project that chronicles this challenging time in journalism) and preparing to be amazed by the efforts of my students.
