Which new media skills do you or your staff need most in the next 12 months?

But, I really need your help to confirm this. Will you please help me out with some data?

Lori Goodlin, Editor-in-chief

Robb’s presentation was very helpful, especially for a small staff with limited resources. I look forward to him returning next year to see where we have taken his guidance and to see where we need to be going from there.

Thanks again!

Aimee Eckley, Director of Interactive Media

Just a note to thank the PNA Foundation for the opportunity to have Robb Montgomery visit our newspaper yesterday.

Our staff was very impressed with his presentation. They felt that he showed what is happening in newsrooms around the world as well as what is possible for a staff our size.

They felt his message was inspirational and that was one of the reasons I wanted him to be in Pottsville. After seeing Robb present at America East I felt that he could energize our staff and help with our corporate culture as it pertains to interactive media.

Mission accomplished! Robb was very easy to work with, professional and took the time for a Q&A session.

We turned our weekly entertainment section into the Victoria Prophet with local feature stories, Advertising, Games, and we even have ads for the busniesses in the world of Harry Potter.”

In a time of contraction for some U.S. newsrooms it is heartening to see a paper take an idea like this and run with it and really, really do it right.

In this session, editors will learn presentation methods beyond the linear narrative. Discover alternate story forms and more visual approaches to make information easy for readers to comprehend. Also see techniques that embrace more Web-centric, community-driven presentations.

Understanding different story forms will help you to assign stories to writers in more meaningful ways. The session will use attendee’s publications as visual aids.
