REDESIGN WORKSHOP (January 9-10, Friday and Saturday - one class)
At Pennsylvania Newspaper Association headquarters in Harrisburg, Penn.
A workshop led by Robb Montgomery
The two-day training will help participants to learn how to innovate on deadline using scalable design strategies, how to use editor-driven and magazine techniques to provide an engaging reader experience. The focus of the training is on techniques for designing new publications or redesigning existing products or sections.
Training consists of lectures, discussions, case studies, critiques and small-groups exercises. Delegates will be required to bring examples of story projects that they think were designed well and, more importantly, examples of those that were not.
Montgomery has redesigned small weekly newspapers in Illinois as well as large daily newspapers like The Examiner and the Chicago Sun-Times.
